Why a world war two veteran was denied Aid and Attendance at an assisted living facility?
The Veteran was denied due to the word "Protective environment" not being on the doctor’s affidavit. Some adjudicators require these words because it is mentioned specifically in the M21-1MR.
This issue can be corrected by a revised 21-2680 doctor's form or a letter from the doctor on his/her letterhead stating that "protective environment" was inadvertently left off the original 21-2680. Additionally, have the doctor state the claimant requires such an environment and has since the initial filing date.
