What would be the benefit amount a widow would receive from Aid and Attendance?
A widow receives a VA survival disability check and has other limited income. The widow is residing at an ALF. In the case of a surviving spouse's DIC claim, medical expenses are not relevant at all. The additional A & A benefit is a flat $286.00 per month, provided that the doctor states she needs a protective environment and/or assistance on Form 21-2680.
