Veteran’s Benefits – DIC for widow of POW
The base DIC for a widow is $1,154.00 per month. Hoever, if the vet was rated 100% for the last eight years of his life and she was married to and living with him during these eight years, the base would be $1,400.00 per month. If she needs A & A, you would add $286.00 per month to either of the base amounts. If she is housebound, you would add $135.00 per month to either of the base amounts. Maximum (without children) would be $1,686.00 per month.
Widow needs to complete the following forms to obtain this income. Form 21-534 is the primary form. If, requires A & A or housebound, submit form s 21-2680 and 21-4142.
