Home care services can be paid privately, i.e. your own funds or funds from a family member; or thru your long term care insurance policy, if you meet their standards for help; or through a variety of public sources, Medicare, Medicaid, and the Veterans’ Administration.
An Assisted Living Facility or Home Care Agency cannot pay for the filing of the application, or pay someone or organization to do so. Otherwise they are breaking the law.
Although families, keep the Alzheimer victim at home, as long as possible, most people with the disease move into an assisted living facility or nursing home.
